I was told yesterday to double The Boys dosage. Wow. Wonder what this is going to do.
I won't know because he'll be at school when it kicks in.
I can't keep him home because I'm working with Compass today. It's that time again. One of my sections to present is this morning and I'm wondering how on earth am I going to focus and do my job if I'm worried about my baby.
Good thing The Man is available for quick pick ups and consults right now. He hasn't started his new project yet, so he's a little loose in the desk chair. Works for me. That means I have more help with all the doctor appointments and what not. In fact, Dad took him for his first speech therapy session yesterday. They came home with flash cards and knowing how to practise. Man, I do love this co-parenting gig we got going on.
I am so fortunate to have friends I can consult with about my boy. I want to thank Melinda over on the West Coast. She has been an amazing help to this troubled Mama's heart. After I talked to the doctor yesterday, I called her to see what she thought. Why? Because she and her family are on the same path....just a few steps ahead. I thank all my local pals who might be on the same path or just are there to lend a much needed ear.
Now, I get to start my day and give my son double the dosage to see if it will help him. Trial and error with medications mixed in with it being my baby? Not good stuff, Internets. Not good at all.
By the way, in the midst of all of this, my 9 year old daughter has decided she wants to grow a few inches, purchase a slightly padded bra, and catch amazing attitude. What is up with that? It's killing The Man. She was two when they met and bonded. She's still two in his eyes. Definitely not old enough to be wearing a bra that hooks in the back!!!

Oh, I can only imagine what JDs reaction will be when HRH wants her first bra, especially considering his whole attitude about the child wearing a bikini this past summer - should be fun a few years from now.
Just catching up on my reading today - haven't been trying to ignore you.
Hang in there, Miss Hope. Trial and error, sadly, is often the only way to find a fix of some sort. I'm just really glad to hear that you have a seemingly good support system within your home. That, in the end, will make a world of difference.
Prayers with you and yours.
Well, Jacob kept his original dosage for a year and while it helped, it didn't help nearly enough. We doubled in May right before school was out and saw a little difference and then went back to the original dose for the summer (because it suppresses his appetite and we wanted him to eat). So now he's on the double dose every day since school has started.
We just returned from an early morning teacher conference and it was the very first positive one I have attended for him. He listens. He gets along with others. He doesn't get many demerits. He works hard. Two years, but finally, he's getting there.
Hope this will work...I'll call you later..
you are right..What's up Makenna..please... it's not time for that already!
Keep an eye on the medication. Not just today but over the next few weeks.
Makenna- Didn't we have a talk about our "easy" child just the other day?
The wearing of the bra was the right turn onto the road of "dad not dealing with daughter growing up" road in our house. It' been a ruff ride....shhe's 17 and he has at least let her grow to kindergarten age. Meanwhile she applied for her first college yesterday...University Maryland
You did a great job today! I hope things went well with Vitt. :)
Good luck with your boy... medication is trial and error and hopefully you will find the right dosage very soon. One of my clients recently switched to a new seizure med... before she was having 100 seizures a day, now she is down to 4 a week. Amazing! You will find the right thing for the boy.
Bras... is it already that time?!
Medications...AND bras all at the same time. Yikes! Sounds like a pretty busy household over there. Changes....changes...changes.
